The sixth Annual Spiritual fair was held with great divinity at Ramachandra Medical University Grounds, Thiruvanmiyur from 8th July to 14th July, 2014.
As part of the Hindu Spiritual and service fair the IMCT foundation that promotes high moral values among students through thematic samskaras gave our school, (SRDF Vivekananda Vidyalaya, affiliated to IMCT) an opportunity to perform the thematic samskaras “Promotion of Patriotism” by way of “Bharat Mata Vandanam” and “Param Veer Vandanam” on Sunday, the 13th July 2014 at the Venue between 9.30 am and 11.30 am.
Students from our school around 126 in number participated in this programme and won laurels from the public who came to witness the fair.
Major Natarajan and Shri Ganesh of the Hindu Spiritual Fair organising committee lit the lamp and formerly inaugurated the programme.
The prayer song “Vande Mataram Ennbom” sung by the students set the appropriate mood for the programme. This was followed by a group song in hindi “Kadam Kadam Badaye Ja” with video clippings highlighting the service and sacrifice of our army men in the war front.
A small skit in English to stress the importance of showing respect to our nation won accolades from the audience. After this 31 students in the army attire along with girls holding the portraits of 21 param veer awardees marched into the venue with our band students scoring the parade music. The portraits were placed on the dias and with “Ae Mere Watan” song in the background lamps were placed in front of the awardees portraits. Each awardee’s achievements were read out. Then the audience were requested to offer floral tributes to the awardees. Many came forward to offer tribute to the Bharat Mata and Param Veer awardees.
The programme concluded with the rendering of “Vande Mataram” (as sung by Lata Mangeshkar) by our students. The programmes were well received by the audience and they appreciated the efforts taken by the school for the performance of this Samskara in a novel way.
All the participants were duly rewarded by the IMCT foundation with an appreciation certificate and badge. We thank the IMCT foundation for giving us a chance to portray this Param Veer Vandana at the fair.
14th November 2013
Param Veer Vandanam & Bharat Mata Vandanam
As a member of IMCT we in our institution organized a mega event on the theme “Promotion of Patriotism”. The main purpose of this programme was to effectively impart the samskaras to the students.
The programme began with the prayer “Mythrim Bajathe”. This was followed by a small briefing about the importance of “Thematic samskaras” by Smt. K. Nalini. Two students read kavithai on the theme and a speech was rendered by a student about the glory of Bharat Mata.
Then to kindle the nationalistic feeling among the students a group song “Kadam, Kadam Badayeja”by 30 students with video clippings of our Jawans in the battle field and their sacrifice was shown which made the audience spell bound.
A small skit about the need for respecting our flag with a video clipping of kargil war caught the attention of the students. As a mark of respect to the ‘Param Veer’ awardees the portraits of the awardees were carried to the stage with the marching of students in military attire. Simultaneously the details of the awardees were shown as stills.
Students placed lamps before the portraits which brought a solemn feeling among the audience.
This was followed by a floral tribute by the chief guests, dignitaries, parents teachers and students with “Aye mere watan ke logo” song in the background. The chief guests spoke about the need for joining army, protection of values and the kind of respect to be shown towards the nation. Students from classes IX to XII participated in the programme. Parents also participated in the programme. The programme came to an end with the beautiful rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ song by our students.
